Geographically, between Dauphin Island and downtown Mobile, there’s a lot of territory. Within that area is the Order of the Rolling River, a smallish band of folks established in 1999 and proudly committed to putting on a Mardi Gras parade and ball for their part of the world: South Dauphin Island Parkway.
In 2026, the parade was cancelled due to cost.
In 2025, ORR rolled on Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. The theme was “Rolling With the Villains.” Queen Victoria led the parade of eight floats, built by the group. The ball followed that night at the U.S. 90 Holiday Inn.
