The Order of Olympia was formed in 2020 and held its first Mardi Gras parade and ball in 2022. The group is composed of racially diverse “goddesses,” who focus on philanthropy work throughout the year, including pampering the women and children of Penelope House, hosting luncheons for residents of senior citizen communities and throwing game parties for residents of Mulherin Home. Each year’s parade theme revolves around a particular goddess.
In 2026, which is their fifth annual parade and ball, the theme is “Goddess of the Gulf.” Queen Amy and Emblem Josie are sisters. The parade includes six floats, one being the emblem float, rented from the Conde Cavaliers. Costumes are by seamstress Carra Deck.
In 2025, the Order of Olympia paraded right after the Order of LaShe’s on Feb. 25. The theme was “Goddess Mnemosyne Takes Us Back to the ’80s.” There were six floats, rented from the Conde Cavaliers. Costumes were by Carra Deck.
