2026 PARADE: Saturday, Jan. 24, 6:30 p.m., Robertsdale Parade Route
Established in 2024, the Robertsdale group Order of Misfits is parading for the first time in 2026. The organizers had belonged to other parading groups on the Eastern Shore and in Mobile, and decided to bring the revelry home. They named their co-ed group the Order of Misfits. “We’re a bunch of different walks of life,” the founder said. “We’re open for anybody, regardless of race or age or political views.” Their emblem is a “misfit” animal — the platypus.
In 2026, the theme of their inaugural parade is “Year of Firsts.” Expect about 15 floats, six from the Misfits and others from local businesses, plus brass bands and cheerleaders. The route starts near Robertsdale High School, follows State Route 59 and ends at Honeybee Park.
