The Knights of Mobile was formed in April 1997, based on the theme of the royal order of King George III (also referred to in history as the Mad King), who ruled over Great Britain from 1760 to 1820. The founders, members of other Mardi Gras organizations, wanted to return to the “smaller society and ball philosophy.”
The theme of the 2026 parade is “Dance the Knight Away.” This year’s queen, Kaytlind, is the twin sister of the 2025 queen, Kayla. Expect about six rented floats, race cars, truck bands, dance teams and more.
KOM rolled on March 1, 2025, just behind the first Floral Parade. Their theme was Knights Rock the Night. Queen Kayla Rene Rogers led the parade of five floats rented from the Pharaohs. Grand Marshal was Nita Summerlin.
