The Dauphin Island Town Council puts on a people’s parade the Saturday after the Krewe de la Dauphine parade. Reminiscent of the Joe Cain Procession, anyone can join this parade. Participants decorate all manner of things, including boats, horses, self-diving porta-potties and canoes. It is absolute (but well organized and safe) mayhem. Expect over 100 units, including several of Mobile’s most recognizable foot marching groups and Joe Cain “hisself.” The parade is so long that it takes over an hour to pass by a location on the route.
***The 2026 parade was moved up, from 1 p.m. to noon, to avoid rain.
