The Conde Explorers was founded in 2004 and was able to get a parade permit in 2005. According to the group’s website, “The Conde Explorers became the first integrated Mardi Gras society to parade in downtown Mobile. … In addition to its parade and ball, the Conde Explorers hold several parties throughout the year, and its members perform volunteer work.” In recent years, the Explorers purchased several floats, and they built their own float barn.
In 2026, the theme is “Rebirth.” Expect 10 floats, including the five now owned by the group, the rest rented from Conde Cavaliers.
In 2025, the Explorers rolled on Feb. 15, after the Pharaohs, with their emblem float and seven floats rented from the Conde Cavaliers. The theme was “The Conde Explorers with a New Beginning.”
