Bayport Parading Society

2026 Parade: Saturday January 31, 2026, 2:00 pm
Parade Route: Route A

**THE MOBILE CHALLENGED REVELERS WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS PARADE DUE TO WEATHER. THE REST OF THE PARADE WILL GO ON**

First rolling in 2007, the Bayport Parading Society is not a mystic or secret organization; it operates under the umbrella of the Joe Cain organization. It was created after the Joe Cain Procession became so large that it had to be capped. Non-business-related groups were allowed to stay in the Joe Cain Procession, while Bayport was created for businesses that want to participate. Wayne Dean leads the parade dressed as Chief Slacabamarinico, just as he does the Joe Cain Marching Society a couple of weeks later.

Six floats are occupied by the Mobile Challenged Revelers — special needs children and adults. Riders aged 14 and above are welcome to participate. Call Vince Emmons at 251-510-5506 to sign up. The rest of the floats are for Mobile-area businesses.

In 2026, representing the Challenged Revelers, Queen Michelle McMaken is the daughter of Mrs. Kathy McMaken and the late Honorable Judge Michael McMaken, and King Vincent Dennis is the son of Scott and Suzanne Dennis. Amanda Belvin is riding as the queen of Bayport. Expect as many as 20 units, as well as marching bands and truck bands.
