Geographically, between Dauphin Island and downtown Mobile, there's a lot of territory.

Within that area is the Order of the Rolling River, a smallish band of folks established in 1999 and proudly committed to putting on a Mardi Gras parade and ball for their part of the world: south Dauphin Island Parkway.

The Order will roll this year on January 27 at 2 p.m. The theme will be Retro Rewind. King Eric and Queen Sabrina will lead the parade of seven floats, built by the group.
